Last Friday, 28 February 2020, the tegos management received the TOP JOB award for outstanding employer qualities at the beautiful AXICA Congress and Convention Center in Berlin.

The award presented by former Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel is recognition of the workplace culture in practice at the tegos Group. The centre for employer attractiveness, zeag GmbH, gives the award to companies that consistently promote a healthy and efficient workplace culture. ‘I’m very proud of this award, of course, but more importantly, this is recognition of the day-to-day culture we have at tegos,’ says Andreas Kullmann, shareholder and founder of the tegos Group. ‘Only by working together can Tegosians create values out of strength and passion,’ Kullmann continues.

Actively shaping the future together

‘To ensure the long-term, sustainable success of our company, it is important to focus on the satisfaction of our employees, as happy employees do an excellent job. The intimate atmosphere at tegos is very dear to me,’ Nils Freitag, Chief HR Officer, explained on Friday evening in Berlin. ‘I’m convinced that this is also one of the reasons why we have so little employee turnover,’ Freitag says. The tegos Group has a range of measures in place to ensure high employee satisfaction. These include multiple team building events for all employees every year, flexible working hours, the opportunity to work from home, special arrangements for parental leave, a company pension scheme and part-time work opportunities for older employees. ‘The tegos atmosphere is built around this special tegos spirit, the team and the people, and our ability to offer the technological solutions and industry expertise that our customers need,’ says Andreas Kullmann.

Agile mindset

Ideas and innovations need space to develop and do not thrive with a self-satisfied status quo. Advancement and continuous development produce a modern working environment that challenges and encourages employees. The software industry needs appropriate work structures in order to deal with complex projects and new product developments accurately and quickly. A focus on agile work structures, with squads and guilds, like in the case of Spotify, has been fully integrated into the tegos Group since 2018. ‘A self-organised working world based on trust is the future, each employee is deployed according to his or her strengths,’ says Ralf Linnemann, describing the tegos approach. This award is proof that the tegos Group is establishing a work environment in which employees feel comfortable and are motivated to move forward, set their own path and continue to explore new horizons.  ‘Do the things you love. With its projects and customers, tegos is much more than just a job for our employees,’ says Ralf Linnemann proudly, with the Top Job award under his arm.
