tegos Counts Among Top Finalists for the Microsoft Partner of the Year Award

tegos GmbH Dortmund has been selected as one of two finalists for the Microsoft Partner of the Year award in the category Dynamics NAV. “We are honored to be recognized by Microsoft for our vertical solution enwis), which is perfectly adapted to the business processes of the waste management and recycling industry,” said Gerhard Winter, CEO Production and Innovation of tegos GmbH.

Winners and finalists were recognized at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2008, the company’s premier annual event for industry partners, held July 7–10 in Houston. More than 2,000 entries were submitted by partners worldwide for the Awards offered in different categories. The Microsoft Dynamics NAV Partner of the Year award honors a partner who has exhibited unsurpassed leadership in providing Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions to customers.

“Congratulations to the 2008 Partner Award winners who have each demonstrated innovation beyond measure and an unswerving commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction,” said Allison Watson, Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Partner Group, Microsoft. ”We look
forward to these partners continuing to raise the bar in the design and deployment of customer solutions built on Microsoft technologies.”

Following this guideline, tegos presents at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference its new module enwis)GIG – Garbage Information Gathering – the first mobile solution based on recently released Dynamics Mobile technology. enwis)GIG combines mobile devices and digital maps with the vertical solution enwis). Within a joint development project of Microsoft and tegos, enwis)GIG was conceived to be used for the first time at Roskilde festival, the largest music festival in Europe.

One major challenge of Roskilde’s logistic is keeping the area clear of trash, both for aesthetic and health reasons, but also to avoid fire hazards. enwis)GIG enabled crew members to better coordinate the dispatch of garbage trucks to hard-hit areas. If a crew member sees a big trash pile in the camp grounds, he or she can send a mobile photo of the site along with geographic coordinates into the system, which allows the dispatcher to better plan the collection routes based on need.

enwis)GIG unites the advanced mobile technology of Microsoft Dynamics with the know-how of tegos concerning the business processes of waste collection and offers an innovative solution for mobile data collection in the area of street cleaning and waste disposal.
