Together Simply. More. Efficient.: tegos Group & IT.Integro successfully implement new business solution at FENIX METALS

Tarnobrzeg (Poland), October 2018 – cutting-edge tin recycling company FENIX METALS is now using Microsoft Dynamics NAV with comotor solution, a new ERP system with an integrated sector solution. Together with IT.Integro, the tegos Group took just 9 months to successfully implement the system migration at this well-established metals specialist from Poland.

With 100 years of metallurgy expertise to its name, FENIX METALS produces high grade, pure tin and has been utilizing technologically advanced recycling procedures for many years now. The company supplies the widest range of tin and solder alloys in Europe. In the winter of 2017, FENIX METALS decided to deploy comotor, an integrated solution from the tegos Group in Dortmund, to provide software-supported mapping of their accounting and trading processes.

Introducing comotor has made it possible to bundle their previously isolated solutions for received shipments, billing and financial accounting and to add aspects such as price risk and inventory analyses. “One of the specific aims of the project at FENIX METALS was to map their sector-specific contract administration and complex pricing which include a wide range of fixing rates, analysis references and exchange rate controls”, says Mirko Jochem, Senior Consultant at the tegos Group. One of the special challenges involved assessing contracts and evaluating non-fixed quantities on a particular valuation date. Together with FENIX METALS they started out by carefully examining the existing evaluation logic. “Contracts and orders with non-fixed amounts can now be evaluated much more precisely. This makes it easier for the customer to organise their liquidity planning and to create reserves for items that have been supplied but not yet invoiced”, explained Roman Koch, Project Manager at the tegos Group.

Together with their Polish partner IT.Integro, the tegos Group successfully completed the migration at FENIX METALS this autumn. The IT specialists from Germany and Poland worked together closely from the initial introduction and adaptations right through to go-live. “Our cooperation with IT.Integro is a great example of the tegos vision of working together in a partnership and was instrumental in making the implementation of this project at FENIX METALS such a success. With our many years of experience in the metal sector, we took care of the specific sector-related topics and settings, while the colleagues from IT.Integro ensured that all the processes were compliant with Polish law. In this way FENIX METALS could benefit from our sector expertise, while IT.Integro contributed their country-specific knowledge”, Roman Koch described the excellent cooperation with their Polish colleagues.

FENIX METALS was also impressed by the smooth migration and successful cooperation, so the next project has already been initiated. In addition to accounting and trading processes, this will involve digitally mapping their technologically advanced recycling procedures and integrating them in comotor as well. “We are very pleased to get started on our next project with FENIX METALS and IT.Integro. The need to integrate and map production processes is something we are coming across more and more often. It is the logical consequence of increasing digitalisation in this sector”, explained Miguel Flaminio, Product Strategy & Sales Lead at the tegos Group, as he discussed developments in the sector.
